Has a chalky appearance -- a night touch for this festive scene.

It was an accident of the scanner at my printer, It was the first image I had scanned, and I was unaware that it is hard for the scanner to read an image without reflection if the image has a glossy varnish. The original is much less "chalky," but I think, for this image the effect works, lol oops.
